Piles are inflamed and swollen combinations of tissue in the anal area. They can have a variety of sizes, and they can be internal and external.
- Internal piles are generally situated between 2 and 4 centimeters above the anus opening, and they are the more basic type.
- External piles can form on the external edge of the anus.
Symptoms
An individual with piles may feel or face these symptoms:-
- A thick, possibly painful lump can be felt over the anus. It may include coagulated blood. Piles that involve blood are called thrombosed external hemorrhoids.
- After passing a stool from a body, a person who is suffering from piles may even face the feeling that their bowels are still full.
- Bright red blood is shown after a bowel movement.
- The area over the anus feels itching, redness and soreness.
- Pain causes during the stool passing.
Causes
Piles are incurred by expanded pressure in the lower rectum. The blood vessels over the anus and in the rectum will get stretched under pressure and may swell up and bulge, causing piles. This may be because of:
- chronic constipation
- chronic diarrhea
- lifting heavy things
- pregnancy
- straining during the stool passing.
The tendency to build piles may also be inherited and expands with age.
